Prof. Rose A. Nyikal is an Agricultural Economist. She’s a Senior Lecturer and Associate Dean, Department of Agricultural Economics – University of Nairobi. Prof. Nyikal has served in different positions. As a crop production extension officer, Agricultural Officer in charge of Projects register for Monitoring and Evaluation among other management duties. In 1991 she was appointed an assistant lecturer of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nairobi, where she rose to the positions of lecturer and currently as senior lecturer. She also served in the prestigious position as the Chair of the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Nairobi. She’s a member of the Academic Board of the Collaborative Masters program in Agricultural and Applied Economics in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa and as a member of the Task force on Establishment of Agricultural Information and Communication Management Programme (TEAP), an initiative of ASARECA-RAIN. The curricula on AICM now launched in two universities. She’s a member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE), African Crop Science Society, International Food and Agribusiness Management Association, the Kenya Professional Association of Women in Agriculture and Environment, and the International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists.
