Recognition of AfJARE within the education system in South Africa

The African Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AfJARE) has received approval by the South African Department of Higher Education and Training and is now in the accredited list of journals. The accreditation is effective from 01 January 2010. The accreditation process involved extensive review by the Department and the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf). This new status qualifies the journal to receive subsidies extended to universities in the South African system in addition to its recognition as a high quality peer–reviewed publication. The Editorial Board is confident that this accreditation will result in increased interest and manuscript submissions from within the country and the region.
