Invitation for
Visiting Lectureship for Shared Facility for Specialization and Electives (SFSE)
- July/August 2007 – November/December, 2007
The Collaborative Masters in
Agricultural & Applied Economics program is a capacity building initiative
spearheaded by the African Agricultural Economics Education Network (AAEEN).
Currently, 16 departments of
Agricultural Economics of public universities in 12 countries in Eastern,
Central and Southern Africa
are participating (see list below). The students enroll in accredited
universities for the first two semesters to take core courses before the
successful ones converge at a shared facility to take the specialization and
electives courses in the 3rd semester. The shared facility is
located at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
On behalf of the AAEEN, the
Collaborative Masters Program in Agricultural and Applied Economics (CMAAE),
housed at the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) wishes to invite
applications from qualified and experienced lecturers for the following
foundation courses, electives and a compulsory course for all students.

The courses will be taught at a
fully equipped, residential facility at the University of Pretoria from
July/August – November 2006. The students will be from the accredited
participating universities who will have completed the core courses of the
CMAAE program. Each course will typically be taught by one or more
instructors within the period.
Qualifications for
visiting lecturership include a PhD in Agricultural Economics, Economics or
relevant discipline for the specific course and demonstrated expertise in
graduate level teaching and research in the course of interest to the
applicant (from the above courses) as well as a commitment of availability
for at least two (2) months.
The CMAAE program will finance
the cost of travel, subsistence and medical insurance in addition to a
competitive remuneration commensurate with qualification and experience.
